Barbara, I strongly recommend Imitrex injections....Pills work, but in my case, just a 1/3 of injection is as effective as 50 mg tablet, and injections work in minutes. Often times I'm not sure whether O2 is going to subside the pain. I LOVE the effectiveness of Imitrex injection, but I try not to use it unless I have to. Maybe it's just me, but I just feel Imitrex is really harsh on the heart. So I wait till the last minute to decide O2 doesn't stop the pain from progressing, which gives me no time to take a tablet!
