Hi Margie!

Sorry to hear about your situation!

Yes, convincing anybody(including many in the medical profession)is not a straight forward exercise. But ignorance is disappearing, and I think it is up to us sufferers to inform all out there, for the benefit of everyone who are suffering and will suffer at some stage of there lives. I do not have knowledge regarding the amount of water relative to body weight, but a medical doctor should be able to assist, or a professional dietician. As long as your husband has no diagnosed kidney or associated condition, at least one glass of water on the hour should not be a problem, although I strongly recommend a glass on the half hour if possible, at least initially for a week or two. As I pointed out before, no alcohol, no raw salt, cheese and intensified sugar (sweets), and in as far as is possible, lowest possible nicotine intake. Avoidence of nicotine has been severely criticed by fellow sufferers, but consider the following as a humble attempt to shed some (at least possible) light: There appears to be a chance that nicotine can in some cases be partly involved in the initial formation of clusters, in the sense that it cuases same damage to the water and/or serotinine regulator in the body. Once the damage is done, avoidance of nicotine does not prevent clusters, as it does not heal the damage done.Which is why we then tend to think that nicotine is not related to clusters. It appears to be similar to contracting aids by for instance getting an infected blood transfusion. Avoiding that blood in future will not cure you from aids. In my case, at least low intake of nicotine does not trigger clusters, but from a certain level up, it does (although this is not the case with all cluster sufferers who smoke).

Lastly: I shall blieve that clusters can be cured until proved wrong..which is why I remain tremendously optimistic.

Painless times!

Regards

Jerry
