It seems that the interest in oral magnesium arose from one report that IV magnesium aborted migraine attacks.

I found one report from Germany in which a doc recommended 600mg/day of oral magnesium. He said this seems to work to prevent CH to some unspecified degree. I'm reading into this brief comment but it suggests that this approach may have been used enough in Europe?/Germany? that there is some anecdotal evidence that it works.

An easy way to get nearly this dose is a commonly available calcium/magnesium tab--which has the benefit of getting two helpful supplements.
