Migraines, while not clusters, are a serious health condition and I sympathize with your pain. Yes, there are new medications out all the time for both cluster and migraine sufferers. You should check the main site/medications for more useful information, or push your doctor into reading up on what's available. As for your Arizona relative, he needs to be in touch with this site and his doctor, one familar with treatment of cluster headaches. If you want a one word answer: Imitrex injections are the best I have found for helping with cluster pain. Good Luck...
