My Doctor told me in the early 70's that there was a theroy that many medications helped with the first headache or two and then when the med deminished your old brain would actually give you another attack to try to get some more medication. I find that if I take anything even Asprin or tylenol I end up with more attacks because of the rebound affect. If you start taking real strong med's like Demerol or Talwin or Dilaudin you end up with a chain reaction of med's then rebound headaches for several days after taking the meds'. So I just tough it out and wait for the cold water and Ice to shrink my pain away. Works every time, sometimes it takes long than other times but always works for me.
