Dude, you just nailed it. No - I cant answer your question as to why this pain is SO UNIQUE, but I have often referred to myself as a POW of an invisible war. What a trip you would use that analogy.
I agree totally that if this was used on POWs, there would be no secrets. Just a bunch of guys offing themselves in the middle of the field.
