Hi M!

My prescription is the same. When the headaches are relatively mild and I am at work, I try for 1/2 tab after I get to work (if I make it there without a cluster; if not I take 1), and then another half 4 hours later. When I take a full tab I'm not sharp enough to do my work well.

During my current cycle, I just began taking one at bedtime to prevent nighttime clusters and, so far, so good!

I'm not sure the Inderal and Covera-HS actually help the clusters. The Inderal (a beta blocker) was originally prescribed thinking my high blood pressure may have brought on the clusters, though the clusters may have caused the high blood pressure. The Covera (a calcium blocker) was added during my last cycle about a year and a half ago because the Inderal alone was not keeping the BP in check.

Bottom line: the Esgic Plus really seems to help (I am aware it can be habituating, causing the need for higher doses to be effective, so I try to be conservative in using it), but does impair my effectiveness at work. Conversely, I haven't had to crawl under my desk and writhe in agony for hours and get nothing done as I have in the past, so until I find something better, Esgic it is! Caution: Do NOT driver or operate heavy machinery while under the influence!

Anyone else know of a reasonable pain reliever that doesn't have the heavy duty drowsy side effects?
