If I recall correctly wasn't LSD envisioned as a wonder drug for psychotherapy way-back-when? A short-cut to years of psycho-analysis, and a quick way to get to those deep-down emotional areas that are so hard to get to by most conventional methods.
It just seems to me that at least one of the drivers in the CH-process is going to be proven to be mental and most likely emotional-based. Just trying to put puzzle-parts together and see how they fit.
