what you've described as your Dad's pattern isn't all that unusual for CH remission periods, all by itself, so its hard to tell
as far as the herbal stuff goes -
as long as you understand that it is about 90% faith healing and 10% actual substance effect,
go for it
lord knows that if a doc had him on lithium all those years, he wasn't well served by "regular" medicine -
but I'm more apt to say it was the doctor, not western medicine that ws at fault
lithium has been pretty much discredited re: cluster headache for a LONG time now
but docs who don't see a lot of it don't have any reason (I guess) to keep up on the literature -
that's a bIG problem - if they were taught something as "the" treatment, a case can be made that they wouldn't have reson to see if anything else has come along
UNLESS they're a neurologist -
if they ARE and aren't 100% up to speed
