sweet Southern belle Heather talks fast, don't even CONSIDER talking to drummer or any other NorthEasterner. Up in that part of the country, it's a common feature of the evening news to report on the number of fatalities from spontaneous tongue fires.
When she visited last summer, drummer kept falling asleep right in the middle of Elaine's sentences. Claimed he got bored waiting for the next word. Elaine had to tape record everything he said and play it back on SLOWWWWW so she could understand him. Made for some interesting conversations.
Just so you know, there is one exception to the "NorthEasterners speaking at speeds beyond the speed of light"......Mainers like garyg. They actually speak even slower than Southerners, but since they hardly speak at all, it isn't so noticeable. My understanding is that Mainers believe that, upon birth, they are granted a specific number of words and, once they speak them all, they die. For this reason, they speak rarely and draw the words out real slow, to savor them.
