Have a tea that I brew that tends to help in attacks. I keep a bunch of it in the fridge so I can have it cold and have it at the first sign. It's merely 1/2 sage and 1/2 rosemary (and Gary. I was skeptical about it working the first 1/2 dozen times that I tried it, so it's not faith healing for me). I drink a quart to a half gallon of it.
As to him driving off now? There is a spot on my car's headrest that I can find that presses firmly against a certain pressure point which diminishes the pain a notch or two. And the cold weather of the snowy day is probably helpful to him as well. So, everything should be OK. You can relax for both of your sakes (tension during an attack tends to make the pain escalate for him and bring ulcers to you).

Good luck.
