I always get them on my left side, and have noticed a lessening in sensation on that side of my face as well. During the cycle, the left side of my face has a constant droopy feeling. I developed an eye twitch on that side, I guess subconsciously to remind me that I am not experiencing paralysis.
On the other hand, after experiencing so much pain in my head, any other headache is a walk in the park. I don't know if my pain tolerance is higher there, or if the nerves are just fried!
