Hello, I've been living in Arizona (Phoenix specifically) for 6 years now. Before that, it was in L.A.. I've had CH since a teenager. I don't know if rust belt/sun belt makes a difference. Mine are episodic and come when ever the hell they fell like coming to town. Like now.
The reason AZ doesn't have DST is because if we did, and this is in all truthfullness, we would have one more hour of heat at the height of the day (for us it's 5-6pm). 115 degrees for one more hour is not pleasant. whether you like the heat (it's a dry heat) or not.
