My good fortune was living two miles from Charing Cross Hospital, which has one of only a couple of Headache clinics in UK. It meant I was diagnosed early, was always seen at short notice - a few days, as against over a month for migraine patients. Although I have recently moved I am still on their books. They told my Health Centre to prescribe oxygen and my GPs followed their advice.
Most GPs I have spoken to haven't known about it.
