Well, I confronted my doctor today about his knowledge
on CH. As he went into his "I suffer from migraines..."
I thought oh no! Here we go...Then,(fortunately before
I opened my big mouth) he went on to tell me of another
patient he had a few years back who had CH. Together they tried everything. Finally, the patient wrapped a
paperclip around his finger and twisted trying to divert the pain. Needless to say...this cut off the circulation and he lost use of that finger. They sent
him off to a clinic(I believe in Washington) that specializes in CH. They told my doc this was as severe
a case as they had ever seen!
So, I asked him why he seemed so nonchalant about my
treatment? We discussed this site, and I rambled about the ineffectiveness of the meds. He happily took all the printouts from this site and said he'd love to
learn more.
Thanks to all of you I'm learning more myself each day, how to communicate with others about CH and steps to help along the way.
(He did give me more drugs, which I won't take...heh heh..this time Amitriptylin, an anti-depressant...said it would help me sleep. Course, as usual, the side effects read: May cause HEADACHES!)
Not touching a drug this go around, and see what happens.
