Hi Monique and everyone else,

Gary mentions Oxygen and Imitrex and "attempts to prevent the attacks from occuring at all technically called prophylactic treatment", but he didn't mention MOST doctor's number one preventative medicine of choice for clusterheads. The one that Doc Greg mentions to the left on the (Ask Doc Greg) link.

Verapamil. "Verapamil is in a class of medications called calcium channel blockers. It is considered one of the first line treatments for cluster headaches".

If you search under this very website for Imitrex you will receive 337 responses. If you search for Oxygen you will receive 287 responses. If you search for Verapamil you will receive 237 responses.

I've read many, many posts from clusterheads where Verapamil has greatly reduced the frequency of their attacks, (hence a preventative).

Good luck!
