just before that picture was taken, the tape on my black plastic frame glasses popped loose, causing them to fall off. When I bent down to pick them up, my favorite "Albert Einstein Commemorative" pocket protector fell out also, nearly cracking my slide rule, which was passed down to me by my celibate grandfather and is thus much treasured now that he is no longer with us.
And since I'm on that subject, I want to thank Riccardo for helping me translate the numbers on that Italian sliderule so that I can finally start using it!
