As I understand it, there are two surgical options, both of which involve deadening select fibers within the nerve bundle. One technique use readiofrequency wave and requires a small incision. Gamma knife uses gamma radiation and is noninvasive. However, I also hear that the radiofrequency techique costs about $6000 and the gamma knife as much as $25000. One thing to consider is that all treatments carry risk. The risk of a surgical procedure may actually be much less than taking various medications over a number of years. My doctor recommended the Cleveland Clinic and specifically Dr. Gene Barnett at the clinic (216) 444-5381. They probably have a webpage.
