Sorry to hear about your insurance problem. In Canada,
have to get a PRESCRIPTION for oxygen. Ah, yes, therein
lies the rub. Try finding a doctor here who believes
us that O2 can help my husband avert an attack. It (oxygen)
is actually registered on the Canadian Drug List as
a controlled substance and most doctors won't prescribe
it unless it is for a lung disorder. Our medical
supply houses simply won't sell or rent it to anyone
without a dr.'s prescription. Doctors would rather
make you psychotic with "pain management" meds than
give you plain old O2. We haven't even been able
to get as far as to try getting reimbursed by the
insurance company. Our solution was to use the one
in our shop that came with the welding supplies. (I
called the poison control centre and they assured me
it was safe as long as we were able to regulate the
pressure and we are).
Such a fair world we live in, huh.
Hope your hubby has a pain free day and night. We
finding big success with gravol and water and O2. He
is also ending his cycle so the attacks are definitely
slowing down.
Pain free days ahead to all of you.
Margi
