Hi Mark,
Gary is right, lose the attitude. Cass knows what she's talking about. Some of my best information and support came from right here, from non- c/h sufferers. I've had them for 23 years, and belive me, my wife and four sons can tell you just what it's like. So please don't be rude or inconsiderate to some one who is trying to help you, and you will get a ton of info. here. You came to the right place.
First off, I have always said that the pain from cluster headaches is indescribable, but over the years I must have painted a fairly good picture to my family.
If you were to have all your fingernails pulled back, chew aluminum foil, insert an icepick into your ear, place a hot poker into your eye socket, and one of those icecream headaches X 10. Put all that in one central location, and you would be getting close to what it's like, for me it's near my temple, behind my eye. My neck throbbs right below the jaw line. As the pain starts
to desend, it hurt's to touch my face, head or neck. They are not all at a level 10, but sometimes a 7-8 is enough to make you want to "off yourself". Which is never an option. But it does cross your mind, ( at least it has crossed mine ).
What you described sounds very serious, may or may not be c/h ( and I will pray to God it is'nt ), either way get a second opinion, from a neuro. . What area are you from ? Maybe one of us can suggest one in your area. Don't wait ! Your mellon is nothing to ignor.
God bless, Tim
