the only answer in that respect comes back to the MS question. These lesions in my brain don't go away, yet I have episodic MS. I go into remmissions for 2 years (the longest) and have exaserbations (flare ups) that can be anywhere from a few days to 6 months, that was the longest and it sucked! :( But what the lesions do is scar over and then re open or form new ones. How and why this happens is not clear. This could be similar to CH. If the extra cells are there and then for some reason, could be that some treatment gets enough seritonin in there to shrink them or change them in some way, then you could go into a remmission as well. Conversly with cronics you never get enough cause too many receptor sites need to be helped and none of the conventional meds. do this. Therefore I think that the mushrooms would maybe benifit cronics as well as episodics.
I must say this has really intreged me and I am thinking my next research project might just be the effects of shrooms on MS. LOL...I could enjoy that one! :)
Love Monique
