I only entered because a good friend bugged me until I sent something in. Dashed it off in about 3 minutes (although it is from the heart).
I thank the judges and the anonymous sponsor, but would like to respectfully decline the free OUCH membership. We all have challenges to face and (hopefully) overcome, and I certainly have my share at the moment. But $25 isn't going to take the food off my table or keep me from the next doctor's appointment (which I hope I won't need for quite some time now!)
Please use the money to pay for someone who's having a rougher time financially than I am. I know a few folks who've been having trouble have already received memberships due to the generosity of some of y'all. If there aren't any worthy recipients at the moment, how about starting a fund? ch.com grows every week, and I'm sure some fiscally-challenged folks will show up soon.
