Good post Hal. I have had similar experiences, both with h a's and having a full bladder during sleep. Once I dreamed I was being taken prisoner and being led to a prison camp. When I got there,the metal detector started buzzing. Then suddenly I woke up to my alarm clock buzzing. I think that any stimulus such as pain, noise, etc. can make their way into your dreams.
