The Organization for Understanding Cluster Headaches (name courtesy of lc bob) is something that has been talked about on this board for the past year. It is finally becoming a reality. The OUCH web site is at www.clusterheadaches.org The only things there at the moment are the Mission Statement, Bylaws and a list of the Officers.
We just began taking memberships a few weeks ago. They are coming in slowly but I guess we can expect that for a fledgling organization. The 1st newsletter is being worked on right now. The OUCH convention agenda and registration form should hit the site in a few weeks.
We need members. We need people who would like to serve on or chair the committees listed in the Bylaws. We need everyones help in making OUCH an effective organization in helping cluster headache sufferers.
Are you looking forward to the convention? We could use your help in putting it all together.
Are you looking forward to reading the newletter? Help.
Looking for the latest info on treatments? Help build the resource data base a feel the fulfilment of sharing the info with others.
You want to curse the politicians? Get on the political action committee and do it to their face (or via e-mail and maybe not really curse at them). But be part of what makes them hear about CH.
It all takes people. Please don't sit back and let others do it all. There are a lot of people already working hard on this (and they have been for quite a while). But we can always use more.
Please, please join OUCH and help where you can.
