Hey Christine,

I also have Graves Disease and have had it since I was about 13 years old. Interestingly enough, this was around the time my clusters started. Any connection.....who knows?

As Chana said, please get it checked asap!! It usually involves a blood test and maybe other tests down the line if necessary such as a thyroid scan.

The symptoms I have....drastic weight loss despite an insatiable appetite, shakiness, heart palpitations and problems with concentration from time to time. Graves Disease can also cause heart arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation.

I experienced a condition called thyroiditis. It is an acute imflammation of the thyroid that caused extreme tenderness of my thyroid, tetany, muscle spasms and basically shut me down. I couldn't even touch my neck because it hurt so badly. I ended up in the emergency room and it scared the heck out of me.

I have been taking medication since the age of 13 and will have to take it the rest of my life but it is a small price to pay to feel normal again.

This may or may not be what is causing your neck pain but PLEASE, PLEASE go to your doctor and get it checked. The blood tests that are done on me are a T3, T4 and T3RIA.

I wish you the best.
