I think neuros way over prescribe prednisone, 60, 80, 100 mg is way too much, if a 10 mg won't knock a CH, go back to the bucket of ice water. Alternate day therapy greatly reduces the side effect, have one friend that can only handle 2 mg every other day, but it helps her greatly. Again, this is an opinion based on my own experiences, my neuro put me on 60 mg/day, darn near climbed out of my socks, called him, and he said to cut way back.
