Having had regular episodic (fall spring) clusters for 20 years, and being a chronic sufferer for more than 12 months, I finally got to speak to experts on the topic.
The Michigan Head•Pain & Neurological Institute (mhni.com) in Michigan were helpful, understanding, and best of all, found a drug cocktail that has left me without any clusters for almost 6 months.
The mix
Steriod Treatments
Lithium
Verapamil
Oxygen and Imitrex for occasional breakthrough symptoms
I have tried the drugs individually, but their effect was limited, but with this combination I am finally free to have a lot of my life back.
