could it simply be that you were going to have that next headache and the next one with or without the Imitrex. Imitrex is an abortive and not a preventative sort of medicine. It works at the time. What happens next is,in my experience, not related to a previous dose of Imitrex.
While I find it a blessing (have gone 20 hours without pain after 1 shot)I can only say that I know it will stop a major headache. I also know we are limited in the amount we can take.The chronic sufferers can probably give you better advise about choosing the best times to take Imitrex for the most benefit over a period of time.
