For Monica and all the ladies out there who are contemplating this: Anytime you start playing around with the hormones be prepared for a backlash. Our hormones play a very powerful role in almost every function in the body. The old saying of "what you do to one affects another" is quite apt in this case. For those of us who suffer CH it is even more important. Yes, hormones play a big part in the physiology of our headaches but just exactly how, we do not know.
In my opinion, the high profile doctor initiated HRT is not the answer, and if you choose to go the natural route (natural progesterone or wild yam cream < best bet), it is best to do it under the supervision of a qualified, experienced practioner as they can better determine your particular hormonal makeup.
Estrogen is highly over-rated these days.
