check on that the doctor wrote out the scrip correctly too. They usually do but today I went to my neuro and she wrote out a scrip for Verapamil SR. The instructions she wrote was to take at the onset of attack. I caught it and pointed it out to the pharmacist after she had filled it (and later showed me the scrip to, I think, point out that it wasn't her error), who had to call the doctor and verify that she really meant to write take 1x p/day. But if I wasn't semi-knowledgable about this med already I would have followed the instructions. That wouldn't be good if I was getting knocked about 8x p/day. Anyway, the point is, double check that the prescriptions have been written out correctly to begin with.
