My atheism actually prompts me to believe in the importance of achieving now any good which you can. The lack of respect that was accorded my atheism and anarchism when I was younger now, perversely, has led me to respect individuals' rights to freedom of belief and to answer to their own conscience. Many people, prompted by religious faith, have devoted their lives to helping others. How could that be wrong?

We do better to judge people on what they do than on what they believe in.

Organised religion is another story for me and a subject best avoided here.
