What are some of the side-effects being experienced with Lithium?

My Neurologist is seemingly, the type of Doctor who doesn't know too much about Cluster Headaches but loves to prescribe drugs for them. In addition to Maxalt, Nortriptyline and O2, he's prescribed a course of Lithium. Frankly, this stuff scares. What are some of the short (and long) term effects of this drug? Input appreciated.
