Wow...it seems like the knots might be a common denominator, or else a symptom of the stress that cluster's cause :)
My husband finally got some relief from his headaches by going to the chiropractor! He went once, and didn't have a headache for two days. Then the muscles started knotting up again and he had another couple of hell days. He went back to the chiro and again didn't have a headache for a couple days. Now he's going regularly and hasn't had one for 4 days now, the longest stretch so far. He ran out of Depakote and didn't bother to refill it, to experiment. Maybe this cycle is ending anyway, but the chiro seems like a godsend right now.
I have noticed that the Depakote gave him a little "edge" (trying to be polite here:) and yesterday and today he has been his usual sweet self. Again I don't know what the correlation is to the end of the cycle, which is bound to change your personality, but I'm not complaining!
The chiropractor worked all the knots out of his neck and shoulders and he is doing so much better. It might be worth a try!
Thanks everyone for being here! I would have lost my mind during this horrendous cycle if it hadn't been for all of you.
Here's wishing that you all can have a pain free holiday season!

Barbara
