Waking with a cluster an hour or 2 after falling asleep is common. Has something to do with the REM (rapid eye movement) sleep mode. Many of us sleep in a sitting up position. Yes it's uncomfortable but the cluster will wake you sooner and you can fight it before it gets too bad.
Please, someone help me here....there's a drug that can be used prevent going into the REM mode and I can't think of it right now. Whatisit?
