Your posting being almost a year old, you probably know by now that one can buy capsaisin ointments over the counter. Capsaisin P is .025% capsaisin; Capsaisin HP is .075 %. (I wonder why there isn't a .05%). There are other brands, and store brands, with the same ingredient.

I started using this when I read about it in Consumer Reports on Health (I think it was that), and it is effective for me. What I came to the 'Net to find out, though, is why it the .025% doesn't sting at all (the .075 stings a lot). I think I'm understanding the box to say that t only burns at first and after use for a while it doesn't, but I'm not sure, or not sure why that would be. Do the skin and nerves become used to it?

I have never used it for headaches, though. Is that recommended? Has anyone ever tried and found it effective?
