I am the wife of a long time cluster sufferer. He religiously reads this site looking for solutions. Just to give you a small amount of background - he has had these ever since he was 18 - 15 yrs ago. They rear their ugly head every winter for about 6 months, and usually come in the evenings or night. He has taken every drug to control these imaginable, and has followed doctor's orders to the nth degree. After too many years of trying different meds, he decided to investigate alternative therapies.
A doctor of this type recommended acupuncture. You cannot believe the results he had. Within two weeks of the starting treatment, the headaches lessened to the point where they became non-existent. He came off the drugs he was on, and has been headache free for two months. This is at a time of the year when normally he would be at the worst of it.
Two things to keep in mind. Make sure that you are recommended to a good one. This process takes a while.Although you notice an improvement fairly quick, the acupuncture should continue onwards for a while, tapering off slowly. My hubby stopped his too soon and had one relapse. He is now back to it and is stabilizing.
I have seen acupuncture work for many things now. It is recognized more and more as an alternative to drug intervention, and is alot easier on your system. It is painless and it works. Please try it and start seeing the relief.
