My primary care doctor prescribed Propranolol for my cluster headaches. It made me very, very sleeping and didn't help me with the headaches at all (shadows or demons). Last week, my neurologist switched me to Verapamil (540mg a day) and that seems to be helping with the pain without any notable side effects. He also gave me a scrip for a lidocaine (4%) nasal spray that he has specially made for his CH patients which works miracles. Twice in the past week that spray has cut the demon off before he could get a solid grip on my head. The combination seems to be working well for me and thankfully without nasty side effects like I've had with Propranolol, Imitrex and Maxalt.

Good luck Todd with your drug therapy and impending dance with the demon.. I hope he leaves you alone at least a little while longer.

Best wishes,
Keli
