Constrict vs dialate

The way that I understand it is that during a cluster the vessels are dialated and causing the pain. The cafergot constricts the vessels bringing relief. The high flow of oxygen somehow tells the brain that too much 02 is pouring into the vessels and the brain causes the vessels to constrict defensively. I use both and find they normally work very well. The good part of it is that there are no side effects at least to the point that you walk around feeling bad or spacey all day. At least between the individual headaches you feel normal.
