In the early years my clusters were short - an hour or two and they were done. Over the years an unmedicated cluster could last much longer. I am not sure if they were 2 back to back ( probably were ) but I have had attacks that lasted as long as 8 hours, and even longer if you consider that residual, my head still isn't clear feeling.

A typical attack is more like 3 to 4 for me. Maybe a little longer if I count the residual pain. You know - the couple of extra hours it takes till you get a clear head.

Over time, the begining of an attack has never varied. Some twinges and within minutes I am off to the races. The end of an attack has changed. Used to be a very quick and well defined end. That has changed and the end seems to be less defined and it lingers.
