From what I have read, Migraine is a simmilar disorder and CH falls under it's umbrella. Ch has unique symptoms which seperate it from all others. These are: Focused excruciating pain often behind the eye and very circadian.

I do not consider shadows part of an attack. To me they are a seperate entity. They often proceed and follow an attack. Sometimes they exist unto themselves. They may exist during an attack but I would be unable to pick the sensation out due to the pain. Shadows are not painful to me. I feel them and they move around in my head on the side where the attacks are. The one time I had the 7 hour attack was the last CH I had during that cycle. That was 11 months ago. During that attack the Kip pain fluctuated between 7-9. The fluctuations were rhythmic with about 1-2 hours between. All during the 7 hours the poker was through the eye. The degree of twisting was the thing that varied.
