I've used cafergot/ercaf for 30+ years. Tablets, inhaler and sublingual. Mostly tabs. I take one tab at the first hints of one starting. The HA builds to a 10 in 5-10 minutes and I hurt. The ercaf usually kicks in in 20 minutes and knocks it out. If it isn't working in 20 minutes I take another tab. If that doesn't do it, I'm in for a big one, 2hrs of pure torture. The perscription says not more than 6 tabs/HA or 10 tabs/week. Right! I usually take around 30 tabs a week. My fingers and toes are constantly cold but small price to pay. I do watch them closely for change in color.
Thank God I'm episodic and only have to do this for a couple of months at a time.
lyg
