I know that Benadryl is used in cough medicines (used to use it alot for bronchitis way back when..)and that it always helped me to sleep. The interesting thing about using Benadryl instead of Gravol is the anti-histamine effect that could be of some benefit. What I don't know is if it will affect REM sleep like Gravol does. All you can do is try it and see.
**Did note that Benadryl has a drug caution: not to be used with MAO inhibitors(perhaps Gravol too?)
