Hi Renee. You and I have a lot in common. I'm 29 and trying to get pregnant also. I posted a comment/question about trying to get pregnant med-free in mid-October. The news was not altogether encouraging. I have had CPH (chronic paroxsymal hemicrania), which is a variation of CH since I was about 6 years old...and mine too have gotten worse with age. It seems that the best we can hope for is to have headache-free pregnancies like some women do, but during the "trying to get pregnant" phase it seems like there's not much we can do. My headaches are very frequent (with CPH they usually are), which means there are only a few weeks out of the year when I don't have them. I tried to go completely without medication in October, but was having about 10 or more headaches a day...being awakened 5 or more times at night. It was exhausting. When my period started I took my Indocin again, but only a couple of times. I have started taking Advil on a regular basis, because it's not as strong of a drug as Indocin, but I know it's not good to do. I try not to get depressed about it, but the truth is, if I truly want to be med-free I will just have to quit working and stay at home with an ice pack on the left side of my head almost all day long. I can't concentrate when I'm having a headache, so it would be unfair to my employer to sit around holding my head all of the time. Hopefully your clusters are few and far between. My husband and I are on our third month of trying to conceive and we're keeping our fingers crossed that this will be our lucky month and that the headaches will cease if I get pregnant. I hope you get pregnant fast and have a pain-free 9 months! Good luck!
