I've experiened clusters since I was six years old (I'm 29 now). I don't remember much from when I was a child, but I do know that they started out as episodic and turned chronic at some point during my teens. I have a condition known as CPH (chronic paroxsymal hemicrania)which means that I get headaches almost every day of the year. They range in severity from dull and annoying to unbearable. The good news is that my headaches are very responsive to Indomethacin (usually CPH is). You may want to ask your doctor if you can try Indocin (it's an arthritis medicine). It's worth a shot.
