I'm one very unusual case. I've had headaches since third grade. I'm twenty-two now. I've been unable to find the cause of my headaches and have been frustrated in my attempts to treat them. My biggest and most recent problem has been my current headache. It started on July 14th of 1996. I've tried many different specialists and many different treatments. I currently have maxalt for migraines (which sometimes works on the migraine portion of the headache) and Fiortal which is the generic brand (GENEV version) of Fiorinal. I have been amazed at the results. This is the first thing that I have tried that works. It doesn't get rid of all of the pain and I can tell when it is time for another dose. (Every three and a half hrs. even though I can only have one every four hrs.) But for the first time since this headache began I have felt like a normal person. The headache pain that remains while I am on Fiorital is "manageable".
If anyone knows of some info that might be helpful in my quest to be without pain I would love the help. I feel like I have tried everything without success. The only two things (other than more addictive drugs) that I am aware of that I have yet to try are accupuncture and going to a pain clinic. Unfortunatly my insurance won't cover these things and I cannot afford them on my own. I want my life back. I want to be able to function normally. Without Pain! Again I would appreciate any help that you can give me.
