I've been having CHs for 23 years - since age 7 w/o proper diagnosis! Was diagnosed with
chronic sinusitus and given antibiotics and Rx anti-histamines
every spring/fall - hmmmmmm. Just recentlyy realized these were
CHs and that I've been dealing w/ them on my own for
this long.
Over the years I've created my own little way of dealing
with them - know when they are comming, know how to cope. Its
never easy but it works. I use massive combos of anti-histamines (change 'em
up so you don't build tolerance - sudafed to benedryl, etc), OTC
anti-inflamatories (ibuprophen) mixed w/ caffiene (vivarin, or a shot
of triple espresso when near a cafe...), hot/cold compresses, etc. Also am on
Rx anti-histamines - now claratin. Plus when in a cluster dose up on Zinc heavy w/
magnesium - who know but I got it from another CHer.
I'm sick of docs poking, prodding, xraying and can't fathom seeing another
one w/o hopes for a real cure.
