American Express would be good, if you have their card. Just go to the nearest AmEx office and have them cut the TC in US$. Drop it in the mail and no muss, no fuss.
You can also send a personal cheque, but you're at the mercy of changes in the exchange rate until it clears, and it will take a bit to clear (thus tying the money up before Elaine can use it)
