Peter-

yes, I am praying that I do not have clusters, but it seems like it
is a lost cause. When I described my symptoms to the doc, he shook
his head mentioned something (I think it was CHP) and said that he
hadn't seen much of it. My symptoms fit near exactly with everything
I have read on this and on the links. Intense, sudden, brain-ripping
pain on the right side of my face. Being unable to go to sleep or being
woken up by the headaches. I am 21 and a smoker, and this is my first
onset of these headaches. I find that during the headaches I do not want
just lay there, but rather a pace and wish I could find something to break
or throw or just do SOMETHING to cope with the pain. The pain resides in my
jaw, tries to pop out my right eyeball and explode my right eardrum, and sticks
a hot poker into my right temple.

So, unfortunately, it seems that I have unwillingly joined the terrible
membership of this sight (no offense, you all are wonderful people, but
it is a membership I wish I could decline). I have a follow up with my MD
next week to talk about (hopefully) how well the indocen has worked as a preventative,
perhaps more will come out then.

Thank you to everyone here for my warm and caring reception to this site. Having
never heard of anything like CH before, I was quite confused (before going to see
the MD I feared a tumor). Knowing that I am not suffering alone through the long
nights, and that others not only care but understand, is so very reassuring.

God's Peace,
Dave
