that CH was like an ice cream headache (brain freeze or whatever people call it now)- only it lasts and lasts and lasts.
Is there a connection? I don't know. I can't stand anything cold when I have a CH attack, yet others use ice packs to good advantage.
It seems to me the worst thing about a CH attack is not just the pain but the fact that it goes on and on and on if you don't have an abortive medication or oxygen tank. The unrelenting ice pick in the brain is really un-describable, and no matter how you try to explain it, no one will really *know* how it feels unless they have had an attack themselves. Actually, I have always been glad my family does not know because it would worry them too much.
People with CH have compared it to migraine and broken limbs and many other things but always agree that the CH pain is simply more intense and so much more difficult to ease.
Best of luck to you. Learn all you can and know that we do understand.
