Imitrex did not work for me either. What does is Amerge, a naratriptan which is a slower, gentler, longer acting triptan. My doc put me on it 2 x day 2.5Mg to be used as a preventative. My last cycle ended in Dec. and this current one started about a month ago, so I held off as long as possible starting the Amerge again. This time instead of taking the full dosage I thought I would try to make do with half. I cut the pill in half, and take half in the morning and half twelve hours later.
So far so good.
